Saturday Morning with the Waltons

So becoming a parent changes pretty much everything, as we all know. One of the things that has changed somewhat dramatically is the lack of distinction between say, a Wednesday morning wake up and a Saturday morning wake up. They both arrive to the tune of the young sir singing away in his crib somewhere between 6:45 and 7:15. Although Drew and I have both always been early-ish risers, getting up at 6:45 on a Saturday was not a habit of ours, but we have discovered that by doing so, you pretty much wind up with two days in one. Noon rolls around and we’re thinking about dinner. Anyway, all of that is to say that it is now 9am, Asher is down for his first nap, we’re back from a walk, the breakfast dishes are getting washed and there’s still a lot of day left in this day. Here’s what we’ve been up to so far:
The chefs hard at work in the kitchen

Old Red Socks McGillicuddy holding down the floor

Eggs with pesto and chevre and of course the perfunctory cups of the sweet elixer of life...

A quick walk to the park to gear up for another gorgeous Spring day!

Happy Saturday!

  1. So I am thinking – if you are thinking Julie Claire and Asher look a lot alike as babes, and they look kinda like you as a baby, that would be the Uffelman genes kicking in…must be some pretty doggone cute genes! Love you.
